Dynamic optimization integrating modifier adaptation using transient measurements

Abstract In this work, a dynamic optimizer (DO) is enhanced with elements taken from the Modifier Adaptation (MA) methodology for Real-Time Optimization (RTO). The objective to use capability of MA methodologies reach real optimum process despite existence process-model mismatch. modifiers are computed during transient, without waiting several steady states occur, speeding up time required plant optimum. architecture proposed includes modified optimization, module estimating model and an additional direct estimation transient. approach was applied in well-known benchmark example: Williams-Otto reactor, where have significant parametric structural results show that integration capable bringing closer optimal economic operation point.
