Dynamic monomers for Hot Lithography: The <scp>UPy</scp> motif as a versatile tool towards stress relaxation, reprocessability, and <scp>3D</scp> printing

Supramolecular polymers can substantially influence the dynamic mechanical properties in slightly crosslinked polymer networks. One prominent example of supramolecular building blocks is 2-ureido-4[1H]-pyrimidinones (UPy). Combining UPy-terminated segments with classical covalent-reactive monomers implements behavior photopolymerizable systems. In this work, a UPy-based methacrylic monomer (up to 20 mol%) was introduced methacrylate matrix. The UPy-motif on reactivity and (thermo)mechanical investigated via RT-NIR photorheology, DMTA, tensile testing. characterized stress relaxation reprocessing studies demonstrate effects photopolymers containing UPy block compared difunctional similar structural features. final step, system applied bulk Hot Lithography printing process at elevated temperatures yielding complex 3D-printed parts high resolution precision.
