Dynamic interaction between shock wave turbulent boundary layer and flexible panel

چکیده

The high-speed fluid–structure interaction (FSI) occurring between a skin panel and turbulent shock-boundary layer (SBLI) are investigated with large eddy simulations (LES). SBLI is comprised of Mach 4 unit Reynolds number 2.375×107 (/m) flow interacting an oblique shock strength p3/p1≈8.5 angle σ≈30deg. inviscid point impingement on the flexible occurs near mid-chord length. fully clamped rectangular has aspect ratio non-dimensional thickness b/a=1.377 h/a=0.003, respectively. strong induces separation length Lsep≈0.7a (or equivalently ≈23δin) wide range scales, including characteristic low-frequency unsteadiness. Fluid structural responses compared across different classes interaction, namely: rigid surface; one-way application loads to structure; two-way structure. interplay elucidated using detailed analysis that includes proper orthogonal decomposition (POD), dynamic mode (DMD), recently developed Lagrangian modal (LMA) for deforming meshes. deflections (∼1h) result in non-linearity associated coupling bending stretching panel, manifested terms increased frequencies deflection.

The Interaction between a Weak Normal Shock Wave and a Turbulent Boundary Layer

SUMMARY A theory is presented for the interaction between a weak normal shock in an initially uniform mainstream, and an idealised boundary layer, with frictionless, one-dimensional, subsonic flow, on a flat wall. Reasons are given for believing that, despite the drastic simplifications of the model, it is not altogether unreal. Hence it is hoped that the results will prove helpful in interpret...

Wall modeled large-eddy simulation of shock wave/turbulent boundary layer interaction with separation

The objective of this work is to assess the ability of large-eddy simulations employing an equilibrium wall model to reproduce the flow features present in strong interactions between an oblique shock wave and the turbulent boundary layers of an internal (duct) flow leading to mean flow separation. Such interactions (denoted STBLI) are pertinent, among other applications, to supersonic flight p...

Interaction Between a Normal Shock Wave and a Turbulent Boundary Layer at High Transonic Speeds. Part II: Wall Shear Stress

When a shock wave impinges upon a wall, it penetrates the boundary layer along the surface and both the shock wave and the boundary layer are changed from their undisturbed states. If the boundary layer remains unseparated, these mutually induced changes take place in a small interaction region. For a turbulent boundary layer, it has been established [1-8] that an asymptotic description of the ...
