Dynamic characteristics of large permanent magnet direct‐drive generators considering electromagnetic–structural coupling effects

Dynamic characteristics of large permanent magnet direct-drive generators (PMDGs) considering electromagnetic–structural coupling effects are analyzed in this study. Using the conformal mapping method, scalar magnetic potential air gap field slot effect is calculated. On basis discrete current element and equivalent circuit model, local saturation stator rotor quantitatively simulated intensity distribution obtained via numerical simulation. A series uniformly distributed electromagnetic springs introduced to develop an finite PMDG model. The proposed analysis method verified by results. test platform for Goldwind 1.5 MW PMDG, both modal dynamic response tests stator/rotor system conducted, results compared with natural frequencies, mode shapes, vibration responses using length speed on frequencies analyzed. model has accurately evaluate energy, avoiding resonance points, maintaining stable operations unit.
