Ductility of Concrete Beams Reinforced with FRP Rebars

Concrete beams reinforced with FRP rebars have greater durability than standard steel elements. The main disadvantage of using is the low ductility elements which may be unacceptable in certain situations. There are several different ways increasing concrete elements, analyzed this paper. They compared based on efficiency, influence and ease construction. Less tested methods given more attention to try expand current knowledge possibilities. For that lack experimental data, theoretical analysis undertaken assess possible method increase ductility. Ductility was obtained by calculating bending moment–curvature diagrams cross sections for reinforcement layouts. One lacks data confining compressive area tensile reinforcement. Theoretical showed can significantly capacity beams. Since tension confined sparse, some suggestions test setups validate analysis. detailed such a way they sufficient ductility, but additional research needed.
