Composite Cavity Fiber Laser with Asymmetric Output Intensity and Wavelength
The composite cavity fiber laser (CCFL) is relatively simple in its fabrication, as it is essentially three wavelength matched Bragg gratings in a section of doped fiber. By using internal feedback with unequal sub-cavity lengths, unidirectional CCFLs with significantly asymmetric output power from its two outputs can be achieved. Preliminary results also show that it is possible for the lasing...
متن کاملStabilized dual-wavelength erbium-doped dual-ring fiber laser.
A stable dual-wavelength erbium-doped fiber (EDF) compound ring laser using a double-ring filter (DRF) is proposed and demonstrated experimentally. By using a ring filter incorporated within the ring cavity, the fiber laser can lase two wavelengths simultaneously. The dual-wavelength output exhibits a good performance having the optical side-mode suppression ratios (SMSRs) of 45.3 and 46.3 dB a...
متن کاملA tunable and switchable single-longitudinal-mode dual-wavelength fiber laser with a simple linear cavity.
A simple linear cavity erbium-doped fiber laser based on a Fabry-Perot filter which consists of a pair of fiber Bragg gratings is proposed for tunable and switchable single-longitudinal-mode dual-wavelength operation. The single-longitudinal-mode is obtained by the saturable absorption of an unpumed erbium-doped fiber together with a narrow-band fiber Bragg grating. Under the high pump power (>...
متن کاملDual-wavelength domain wall solitons in a fiber ring laser.
We report on the first experimental observation of dual wavelength domain wall type of dark solitons in a fiber laser made of all normal group velocity dispersion fibers. It was shown that this solitary wave is formed due to the cross coupling between two different wavelength laser beams and consists of localized dip structures separating the two different wavelength laser emissions.
متن کاملFiber-wireless networks incorporating wavelength division multiplexing
Broadband wireless access operating in the microwave and millimeter-wave frequency windows has been actively investigated for future ultra broadband communications. The drastic increase in the throughout of each base station in these systems necessitates the use of an optical fiber backbone to provide broadband interconnections between the central office and all the antenna base stations. With ...
