Droplet size from Venturi air induction spray nozzles

Abstract Sprays are of great importance for many applications, with drop size being a crucial parameter. Especially in agriculture simple flat fan spray nozzles often supplemented by Venturi component to achieve larger sizes and hence, prevent unwanted drift the smallest droplets. The general believe is that these drops usually attributed fact liquid sheet produced nozzle breaks up more easily due pre-existing ’holes’ formed induced air bubbles. Here, we extend descriptions how fluid parameters determine droplet distributions from nozzles. We show mean determined nozzle’s orifice area as case ordinary nozzles, but additional pressure over chamber needs be taken into account. Using this parameter, relations were derived can re-used. This allows increase compared conventional chamber, not change breakup mechanism presence bubbles sheet.
