Esophageal cancer (EC) is one of the most malignant and lethal digestive‑related tumors worldwide. However, acquired drug resistance a major obstacle concerning anticancer chemotherapy. An increasing number studies have reported that microRNAs (miRNAs/miRs) are implicated in regulating sensitivity esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). The aim present study was to investigate role miR‑106b‑3p cisplatin for ESCC. Initially, reverse transcription‑quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT‑qPCR) performed analyze protein‑glutamine γ‑glutamyltransferase E (TGM3) expression levels ESCC non‑tumor adjacent tissues. By using bioinformatics software TargetScan, TGM3 predicted be potential downstream target miR‑106‑3p. Following verification by dual‑luciferase reporter assay, effects transfection on KYSE30 viability apoptosis following treatment with were confirmed Cell Counting Kit‑8 flow cytometry assays, respectively. results revealed upregulated, whereas TMG3 downregulated Dual‑luciferase assays negatively regulated binding its 3'UTR sequence.
