Down-regulated MicroRNAs in Gastric Carcinoma May Be Targets for Therapeutic Intervention and Replacement Therapy

چکیده
Gastric cancer is one of the leading types with an annual death toll 700,000 worldwide. Despite fact that several agents are approved for its treatment, high percentage recurrence and intractability metastatic disease remain a major problem. The identification new targets modalities treatment therefore priority. We have searched literature microRNAs down-regulated in gastric efficacy cancer-related murine xenograft models after reconstitution therapy. Among identified miRs were 25 targeting transcription factors, seven them regulating cell-cycle apotosis-related targets, five GTPase-related such as GAPs GEFs. According to criteria prognostic impact, functional data, tractability, miR-133 b/a (MCL1) miR-518 (MDM2) suggested potentially valuable further evaluation possible cancer.

Promoter methylated microRNAs: Potential therapeutic targets in gastric cancer (Review)
Gastric cancer (GC) is the fourth most commonly diagnosed type of cancer worldwide and has the second highest mortality rate of all cancer types. Classical genetics alone does not fully explain how GC occurs; however, epigenetics provides a partial explanation with regard to the cause of cancer. DNA methylation, the best‑known type of epigenetic marker, represses the expression of tumor‑suppres...
متن کاملMay Circulating microRNAs be Gastric Cancer Diagnostic Biomarkers?
Gastric cancer (GC) is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths. More than 80% of the diagnosis was made at the advanced stages of the disease, highlighting the urgent demand for novel biomarkers that can be used for early detection. Recently, a number of studies suggest that circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) could be potential biomarkers for GC diagnosis. Cancer-related circulating miRNAs...
متن کاملMicroRNAs: New Therapeutic Targets for Familial Hypercholesterolemia?
Familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) is the most common inherited form of dyslipidemia and a major cause of premature cardiovascular disease. Management of FH mainly relies on the efficiency of treatments that reduce plasma low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol (LDL-C) concentrations. MicroRNAs (miRs) have been suggested as emerging regulators of plasma LDL-C concentrations. Notably, there is...
متن کاملDown-regulated expression of Rap1GAP predicts unfavorable prognosis in diffuse type gastric cancer and may be correlated with EMT
Aim: To investigate the correlation between Rap1 GTPase-activating protein (Rap1GAP) expression and clinicopathological outcome in patients with gastric cancer. Methods: A total of 219 patients with gastric cancer who were underwent surgery were enrolled in this study. The expression of Rap1GAP, MMP9, MMP2 and E-cadherin was examined by immunohistochemistry. The data of Rap1GAP expression, clin...
متن کاملMicroRNAs in adipogenesis and as therapeutic targets for obesity.
INTRODUCTION Obesity and obesity-related disease have reached pandemic proportions and are prevalent even in developing countries. Adipose tissue is increasingly being recognized as a key regulator of whole-body energy homeostasis and consequently as a prime therapeutic target for metabolic syndrome. This review discusses the roles of miRNAs, small endogenously expressed RNAs that regulate gene...
