Double nuclear spin switching in single quantum dots

چکیده
Hyperfine interaction in a quantum dot produces spin-coupled system between an injected electron and few tens of thousands nuclei the wavefunction. We report here that double bistable phenomenon nuclear spin polarization (NSP) can be observed by sweeping three control parameters. All observations indicate NSP has stable branches under longitudinal magnetic field, whereas number been believed to two at most. The incorporation relaxation due fluctuation enables reproduction features polarization.

Knight-field-enabled nuclear spin polarization in single quantum dots.
We demonstrate dynamical nuclear-spin polarization in the absence of an external magnetic field by resonant circularly polarized optical excitation of a single electron or hole charged quantum dot. Optical pumping of the electron spin induces an effective inhomogeneous magnetic (Knight) field that determines the direction along which nuclear spins could polarize and enables nuclear-spin cooling...

We have measured the carrier spin dynamics in p-doped InAs/GaAs quantum dots by pump-probe and time-resolved photoluminescence experiments. We obtained experimental evidence of the hyperfine interaction between hole and nuclear spins. In the absence of an external magnetic field, our calculations based on dipole-dipole coupling between the hole and the quantum dot nuclei lead to a hole-spin dep...

The interaction of an electronic spin with its nuclear environment, an issue known as the central spin problem, has been the subject of considerable attention due to its relevance for spin-based quantum computation using semiconductor quantum dots. Independent control of the nuclear spin bath using nuclear magnetic resonance techniques and dynamic nuclear polarization using the central spin its...

We show that by illuminating an InGaAs/GaAs self-assembled quantum dot with circularly polarized light, the nuclei of atoms constituting the dot can be driven into a bistable regime, in which either a thresholdlike enhancement or reduction of the local nuclear field by up to 3 T can be generated by varying the pumping intensity. The excitation power threshold for such a nuclear spin "switch" is...

We theoretically investigate the controlled dynamic polarization of lattice nuclear spins in GaAs double quantum dots containing two electrons. Three regimes of long-term dynamics are identified, including the buildup of a large difference in the Overhauser fields across the dots, the saturation of the nuclear polarization process associated with formation of so-called "dark states", and the el...
