D.O.T. PAQUITOP, an Autonomous Mobile Manipulator for Hospital Assistance

The use of robotic technologies for caregiving and assistance has become a very interesting research topic in the field robotics. Towards this goal, researchers at Politecnico di Torino are developing solutions indoor assistance. This paper presents D.O.T. PAQUITOP project, which aims mobile assistant hospital environment. robot is composed custom omnidirectional platform, named PAQUITOP, commercial 6 dof arm, sensors monitoring vital signs patients, tablet to interact with patient. To prove effectiveness solution, preliminary tests were conducted success laboratories and, thanks collaboration Onlus Fondazione medical staff Molinette Hospital Turin (Italy), hematology ward Hospital.
