چکیده
Background/Aim. In the past two decades, we have witnessed emergence of new radiation therapy techniques, radiotherapy treatment planning system (TPS) with calculating algorithms for dosage calculation in a patient, units multislice computed tomography (CT) and image-guided delivery. The aim study was investigating significant difference dosimetric TPS relation to values obtained by measuring on linear accelerator (LINAC), accuracy between Analytical Anisotropic Algorithm (AAA) Acuros XB various tissues photon beam energies. Methods. For End-to-End test used hetero-geneous phantom CIRS Thorax002LFC, which anatomically represents human torso set inserts known as relative electron densities (RED) obtaining CT calibration curve, comparable ?reference? 062M phantom. AAA 6 MV 16 beams Varian Eclipse 13.6, four 3D conformal (3DCRT), one intensity modulated (IMRT) volumetric arc (VMAT) plans were made. Measurements absolute dose Thorax phantom, PTW-Semiflex ionization chamber, carried out three Varian-DHX LINACs. Results. measured conversion curves bone area 3%. 476 measurements, calculated 3?6%, found 30 (6.3%) cases. According regression analysis, standardized Beta coefficient errors, vs. MV, 0.337 (33.7%, p < 0.001). Mean errors XB, using Mann-Whitney test, bones 1.56% 2.64%, respectively (p = 0.004). Conclusion. Thorax002LFC proved delivered patient LINAC. There energies (higher are MV). A statistically minor error bone.

Dosimetric verification of radiotherapy treatment planning systems in Serbia: national audit
BACKGROUND Independent external audits play an important role in quality assurance programme in radiation oncology. The audit supported by the IAEA in Serbia was designed to review the whole chain of activities in 3D conformal radiotherapy (3D-CRT) workflow, from patient data acquisition to treatment planning and dose delivery. The audit was based on the IAEA recommendations and focused on dosi...
متن کاملDosimetric verification of the anisotropic analytical algorithm for radiotherapy treatment planning.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE To investigate the accuracy of photon dose calculations performed by the Anisotropic Analytical Algorithm, in homogeneous and inhomogeneous media and in simulated treatment plans. MATERIALS AND METHODS Predicted dose distributions were compared with ionisation chamber and film measurements for a series of increasingly complex situations. Initially, simple and complex fi...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE One of the newer audit modalities operated by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) involves audits of treatment planning systems (TPS) in radiotherapy. The main focus of the audit is the dosimetry verification of the delivery of a radiation treatment plan for three-dimensional (3D) conformal radiotherapy using high energy photon beams. The audit has been carried ...
متن کاملDosimetric verification of a dedicated 3D treatment planning system for episcleral plaque therapy.
PURPOSE Episcleral plaque therapy (EPT) is applied in the management of some malignant ocular tumors. A customized configuration of typically 4 to 20 radioactive seeds is fixed in a gold plaque, and the plaque is sutured to the scleral surface corresponding to the basis of the intraocular tumor, allowing for a localized radiation dose delivery to the tumor. Minimum target doses as high as 100 G...
متن کاملDosimetric Evaluation of Dose calculation algorithms of Monaco Treatment Planning System in the heterogeneities area
Introduction: In radiation therapy, the accuracy of dose calculations by a treatment planning system (TPS) is important to achieve tumor control and to spare normal tissue. Treatment planning system calculations in the heterogeneous situation may present significant inaccuracies. In this study, three different dose calculation algorithms, pencil beam (PB), collapsed cone (CC), ...
