چکیده
Local thermal management has important implications regarding comfort, energy consumption, and electronic device performance/lifetime. While organic thermoelectrics have emerged as promising materials for flexible thermoelectric harvesting devices, their potential Peltier cooling element been largely overlooked. Here, micro-thermoelectric coolers based on doped small molecule thin-films with a fast response time (around 25 µs) which is among the fastest reported are presented. This experimental performance supported by simulation using finite-element method transport. The results show that offer great wearable applications.

Polymer-Optical-Fiber Lasers and Amplifiers Doped with Organic Dyes
Polymer optical fibers (POFs) doped with organic dyes can be used to make efficient lasers and amplifiers due to the high gains achievable in short distances. This paper analyzes the peculiarities of light amplification in POFs through some experimental data and a computational model capable of carrying out both power and spectral analyses. We investigate the emission spectral shifts and widths...
متن کاملElectrogenerated upconverted emission from doped organic nanowires.
The electrogenerated upconversion was achieved in the uniformly doped organic nanowires based on triplet energy transfer from tris(2,2'-bipyridyl)ruthenium(II) to 9,10-diphenylanthracene.
متن کاملIncreasing the dimensionality of cryogenic molecular coolers: Gd-based polymers and metal-organic frameworks.
The magnetothermal properties of a coordination polymer and a metal-organic framework (MOF) based on Gd(3+) ions are reported. An equally large cryogenic magnetocaloric effect (MCE) is found, irrespective of the dimensionality. This combined with their robustness makes them appealing for widespread magnetic refrigeration applications.
متن کاملNitrogen-doped titanium dioxide photocatalysts for visible response prepared by using organic compounds
In order to utilize visible light in photocatalytic reactions, nitrogen atoms were doped in commercially available photocatalytic TiO2 powders by using an organic compound such as urea and guanidine. Analysis by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) indicated that N atoms were incorporated into two different sites of the bulk phase of TiO2. A significant shift of the absorption edge to a lower...
متن کاملOn-chip Hot Spot Remediation with Miniaturized Thermoelectric Coolers
The rapid emergence of nanoelectronics, with the consequent rise in transistor density and switching speed, has led to a steep increase in chip heat flux and growing concern over the emergence of onchip “hot spots” in microprocessors, along with such high flux regions in power electronic chips and LED’s. Miniaturized thermoelectric coolers (μ-TEC’s) are a most promising cooling technique for th...
