Doormatobezoar: first case report of a bezoar formed by doormat ingestion

Bezoars are retained concretions of undigested foreign material that accumulate and coalesce within the gastrointestinal tract, most commonly in stomach. A 12 years old male child presented to us with complaints pain upper abdomen on off for 2 months. He had a habit biting chewing doormat at home several Physical examination revealed mild epigastric tenderness. Upper GI endoscopy mass fibres stomach which was tightly organised too large safely remove endoscopically toto. Hence patient taken up surgery around 9×6 cm size oval shape removed from Postoperative recovery uneventful. Doormatobezoars rare cause can be treated effectively surgically.
