Dominant Instability Mechanism of VSI Connecting to a Very Weak Grid

In this paper, it is identified that unstable weak grid connection of voltage source inverters (VSIs) dominantly caused by the current control. particular, found proportional gain $ k_p$ conventional PI controller cannot balance impact and damping capability especially when a very with short circuit ratio (SCR) < $ 1.3 connected. This issue solved in paper simply restructuring as an IP for will not change tuning method control make VSI indeed connect to rated power injection.
