DOMESTIC COMEDY AND THE CLASSICAL GREEK HOUSE

چکیده
Greek comedy, especially New Comedy, contains many incidental descriptions of domestic interiors. This article argues that such constitute a valuable and overlooked source evidence for historians the classical house; they are also interest to literary critics in contribute thematic conceptual meaning plays. The presents discusses all surviving comic houses, including previously neglected fragments, as well key scene from Menander's Samia which is more detailed than any other depiction.
