چکیده

Abstract In the present study, we explore potential effects of visual saliency on decision quality in context multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM). We compare two visualization techniques: parallel coordinates (PC) and scatterplot matrices (SPM). investigate impact facilitated by means either color or size. The techniques were factors our analysis, evaluated terms quality, attention, time task, confidence. Results show that choice attention comparable for all conditions when SPM was used. For PC, found a positive effect both attention. Different forms led to varying times task PC SPM; however, those variations not significant. A comparison shows, users spent less obtained better more confident with their using PC. To summarize, findings suggest can increase MCDM certain saliency. Another contribution this work is novel suggestion method elicit users’ preferences; its benefits are discussed end paper. Graphic abstract

Acute stress does not affect risky monetary decision-making

The ubiquitous and intense nature of stress responses necessitate that we understand how they affect decision-making. Despite a number of studies examining risky decision-making under stress, it is as yet unclear whether and in what way stress alters the underlying processes that shape our choices. This is in part because previous studies have not separated and quantified dissociable valuation ...

Distorted Low-Level Visual Features Affect Saliency-Based Visual Attention

Image distortions can attract attention away from the natural scene saliency (Redi et al., 2011). Performance of viewers in visual search tasks and their fixation patterns are also affected by different types and amounts of distortions (Vu et al., 2008). In this paper, we have discussed the opinion that distortions could largely affect the performance of predictive models of visual attention, a...
