چکیده
Introduction: The aim of this study is to investigate whether macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) predicts the prognosis COVID-19 disease.
Methodology: This descriptive and cross-sectional was conducted on 87 confirmed patients. patients were separated into two groups according admission in ICU or ward. MIF determined batchwise plasma obtained as soon admitted. Both compared with respect demographic characteristics, biochemical parameters prediction requirement admission.
 Results: Forty seven ICU, 40 ward included. With levels biomarkers, there a statistically significant difference between (p< 0.024). In terms requirement, cut-off value detected 4.705 (AUC:0.633, 95%CI:0.561-0.79, p= 0.037), D-dimer 789 (AUC:0.779, 95%CI: 0.681-0.877, 0.000), troponin 8.15 (AUC: 0.820, 95%CI:0.729-0.911, ferritin 375 0.774, 95%CI:0.671-0.876, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) 359.5 (AUC:0.843, 0.753-0.933, 0.000). According logistic regression analysis; when level > 4.705, patient’s risk increased 8.33 (95%CI: 1.73-44.26, 0.009) fold. Similarly, elevation troponin, and, LDH shown predict disease 0.05).
Conclusions: Our showed that may play role inflammatory responses through induction pulmonary cytokines, suggesting pharmacotherapeutic approaches targeting hold promise for treatment pneumonia.

The highly conserved and archetypical yet atypical cytokine macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) fulfills pleiotropic immune functions in many acute and chronic inflammatory diseases. Recent evidence has emerged from both expression and functional studies to implicate MIF in various aspects of cardiovascular disease. The present review is aimed at providing a synopsis of the involvement...
متن کاملMacrophage Migration Inhibitory Factor in Clinical Kidney Disease
Macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) is a proinflammatory cytokine implicated in acute and chronic inflammatory conditions, including sepsis, autoimmune disease, atherogenesis, plaque instability, and pulmonary arterial hypertension. MIF in plasma and urine is significantly elevated in patients with acute kidney injury (AKI) and elevated MIF in serum is associated with markers of oxidat...

The ability of hydrocortisone to modify antigen-mediated inhibition of macrophage migration, an in vitro correlate of cellular immunity in the guinea pig, was investigated. Only the glucocorticoids, hydrocortisone and dexamethasone, significantly blocked migration inhibitory factor (MIF) activity in pharmacologic concentrations. Hydrocortisone had no effect on antigen "processing" by macrophage...

Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2, which appeared in late 2019, can have negative effects on the cardiovascular system. Studies in different parts of the world indicate the importance of cardiac troponin as a predictor in coronary heart disease patients. Heart damage occurs frequently in Coronavirus 2 infection and is associated with a high risk of mortality in these patients. In people ...
