Does External Debt Promote Human Longevity in Developing Countries? Evidence from West African Countries

This study assessed the impact of external debt on longevity in developing countries, particularly West Africa, from 1981 to 2020. Longevity was proxied by life expectancy at birth, while evaluated effects perspective sustainability, liquidity, and solvency. Furthermore, outcomes macroeconomic volatility were controlled through inflation exchange rate variability. Methodologically, robustness inferences ensured using estimated cross-sectional augmented autoregressive distributed lag (CS-ARDL), dynamic common correlated (DCCE), Driscoll–Kraay (D–K) methods. Empirically, showed that unsustainable, illiquid, insolvent shorten mainly long-term African countries. Hence, will decline when weak management promotes poverty
