Bacterial weathering plays a significant role in rock weathering, yet only limited number of studies were conducted on this topic. The recent rapid developments geomicrobiology are expected to increase the pace research area. extent and duration biological processes mineral samples minerals preferred by bacteria still not fully understood due wide variety both bacterial species types. Biological types found Turkey has also been studied before. Here, we investigated effects two actively contributing three commonly used as building stone materials Turkey. Granite, andesite, limestone could interact with Bacillus (B. subtilis B. pumilus) closed system reactors. Samples obtained from these reactors analysed via scanning electron microscopy (SEM) monitoring identify morphological features chemical composition changes. Chemical elements consumed most identified. Changes colour index determined RGB measurements. experimental conditions growth monitored daily optical density physical properties evaluated. pumilus be more aggressive limestone/andesite granite, respectively.
