Do French ‘Nomads’ Have a War History? A Review of Seventy-five Years of Historiography

چکیده
Through a study of the historiography persecution “Nomads” in France from 1939 to 1946, this article offers critical analysis methodological and thematic biases present much historical research on topic. Historical studies have significant practical implications today: examines how history French Roma Travellers during Second World War was written. It shows institutions relied work deny racial character so-called“Nomads”. The paper emphasizes that internment enforced residence were not so an absolute break but rather part particularly virulent moment long twentieth century France.
