چکیده
Abstract Moulding the flow of phononic waves in three-dimensional (3D) space plays a critical role controlling sound and thermal properties matter. To this end, 3D crystals (PnCs) have been considered gold standard because their complete bandgap (PnBG) enables omnidirectional inhibition wave propagation. Nevertheless, achieving PnBG high-frequency regime is still challenging, as attaining correspondingly demanded mesoscale consisting continuous frame networks with conventional fabrications difficult. Here, we report that DNA origami-designed-3D crystal can serve hypersonic PnC exhibiting widest PnBG. origami crystallization unprecedentedly provide such at are realizable. Furthermore, lattice symmetry be molecularly programmed to highest level hierarchy groups numbers, which facilitate widening More importantly, conformal silicification render origami-3D rigid. Overall, predict achieved origami-designed optimal geometry silica fraction; our work blueprint for design fabrication PnCs champion

متن کاملUltrasound tunneling through 3D phononic crystals.
We report the study of ultrasound tunneling in 3D phononic crystals, consisting of fcc arrays of close-packed tungsten carbide beads in water. The transmission coefficient, phase velocity, and group velocity were measured along the [111] direction, allowing us to systematically investigate the tunneling of ultrasound at frequencies in the lowest band gap. Our experimental data are interpreted u...

Establishing precise control over the shape and the interactions of the microscopic building blocks is essential for design of macroscopic soft materials with novel structural, optical and mechanical properties. Here, we demonstrate robust assembly of DNA origami filaments into cholesteric liquid crystals, one-dimensional supramolecular twisted ribbons and two-dimensional colloidal membranes. T...
متن کاملMagnetic-Sphere-Based Phononic Crystals
Periodic arrays in one, two, and three dimensions, made of magnetic spheres embedded in a fluid matrix, are considered in this study and utilized as phononic structures. The propagation of acoustic waves through these structures is analyzed experimentally, in lowand high-frequency region, via laser vibrometry, as well as standard underwater acoustic measurements. A first comparison to theoretic...
