DNA Barcoding of Andaliman (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC) from North Sumatra Province of Indonesia using maturase K Gene

Andaliman (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC) is a native plant of North Sumatra province. Zanthoxylum member Rutaceae family widely found in northern Sumatra, Indonesia. The aim this study was to barcode Z. province, Indonesia based on cpDNA maturase K (matK). Samples were collected seven localities across six regions Phylogenetic analysis conducted using Maximum Likelihood method. results phylogenetic indicate that monophyletic group derived from common ancestor. the tree construction show there grouping accession between species separate other genus as well those family. showed matK marker can effectively be used DNA barcoding identify acanthopodium.
