Diversity Order Analysis for Quantized Constant Envelope Transmission

Quantized constant envelope (QCE) transmission is a popular and effective technique to reduce the hardware cost improve power efficiency of 5G beyond systems equipped with large antenna arrays. It has been widely observed that number quantization levels substantial impact on system performance. This paper aims quantify Specifically, we consider downlink single-user multiple-input-single-output (MISO) $M$ -phase shift keying (PSK) constellation under Rayleigh fading channel. We first derive novel bound symbol error probability (SEP). Based derived SEP bound, characterize achievable diversity order quantized matched filter (MF) precoding strategy. Our results show full can be achieved when notation="LaTeX">$L$ greater than PSK notation="LaTeX">$M,$ i.e., notation="LaTeX">$L>M$ , only half notation="LaTeX">$L=M$ 0 notation="LaTeX">$L< M$ . Simulation verify our theoretical analysis.
