Diversity of Free-Threshing Wheat in Early Medieval England Supported by Geometric Morphometric Analysis of Grains

چکیده
Observations of atypical grains and relatively small quantities diagnostic rachis fragments have led to suggestions that a new type wheat was introduced into Late Anglo-Saxon agriculture (c. AD 850–1066). This crop tetraploid free-threshing (FTW), potentially unknown in Britain since the Neolithic. Based on growing requirements, this is considered most likely been rivet, tall cultivar associated with thatching, presumably grown alongside hexaploid bread wheat. However, cultivation has not conclusively demonstrated because traditional morphological approaches do allow us identify specific FTW cultivars. New results suggest geometric morphometric analysis can distinguish at different taxonomic levels. Modern specimens were compared >450 charred from contexts spanning 7th–14th centuries twelve sites, accessed through ‘Feeding England’ (FeedSax) project. The presence rivet suggested several before after Norman Conquest (AD 1066), intra-species comparisons indicating greater similarity ‘traditional’ varieties than modern ‘improved’ forms. Morphological variation relating diversity both within between cultivars described interpreted context innovations arable production later period.

15 صفحه اولGeometric morphometric analysis of mandibular shape diversity in Pan.
The aim of this research is to determine whether geometric morphometric (GM) techniques can provide insights into how the shape of the mandibular corpus differs between bonobos and chimpanzees and to explore the potential implications of those results for our understanding of hominin evolution. We focused on this region of the mandible because of the relative frequency with which it has been re...

The origin of spelt and free-threshing hexaploid wheat.
It is widely believed that hexaploid wheat originated via hybridization of hulled tetraploid emmer with Aegilops tauschii (genomes DD) and that the nascent hexaploid was spelt, from which free-threshing wheat evolved by mutations. To reassess the role of spelt in the evolution of Triticum aestivum, 4 disomic substitution lines of Ae. tauschii chromosome 2D in Chinese Spring wheat were developed...
متن کاملdetermination of maximal singularity free zones in the workspace of parallel manipulator
due to the limiting workspace of parallel manipulator and regarding to finding the trajectory planning of singularity free at workspace is difficult, so finding a best solution that can develop a technique to determine the singularity-free zones in the workspace of parallel manipulators is highly important. in this thesis a simple and new technique are presented to determine the maximal singula...
