Diversity of CRISPR loci in <i>Yersinia pseudotuberculosis</i> strains and their association with pathogenicity factors

Introduction. Heterogeneous microbial populations exist in the nature due to exchange of genetic material containing extrachromosomal and transposable elements. Structures controlling horizontal gene transfer may affect development pathogen variants.
 The aim study is analyze molecular characteristics CRISPR-loci Yersinia pseudotuberculosis strains circulating Russia their association with pathogenicity factors.
 Materials methods. We studied 56 Y. isolated from different sources during 19352014 various regions Russian Federation other countries. DNA fragments were amplified by PCR, subjected Sanger sequencing. PCR was used determine chromosomal genes superantigen ypmA/C, islands HPI, YAPI, plasmids pYV pVM82.
 Results. Analysis showed that spacer content varies depending on serotype, set factors, isolation place. most variable loci are YP1 YP3, locus YP2 homogeneous. Locus differ presence plasmid pVM82, while YP3 depends pVM82 adhesion island YAPI.
 Conclusion. Strains have a huge diversity factors CRISPR content. Most markers High variability defined ability get new elements transfer. In bacteria, CRISPR-Cas system provides immunity against mobile can participate formation pathogenic potential.
