چکیده
Abstract Eleocharis (Cyperaceae) includes more than 300 species of perennial or annual herbs, frequently found on poorly drained soils. The are morphologicaly similar, and the taxonomy is difficult because their vegetative reproductive structures very reduced. Previous study stem architecture in subgenus Limnochloa showed that anatomical features help interpretation evolution, ecological aspects group. Our objectives were to add new characters from (= culm) structure, explore a greater number species, representatives other subgenera, these data phylogenetic analysis with molecular data. covered 68 obtained herbaria fixed material. In addition architecture, internal organization tissues, cross-section format, presence absence stretched cells aerenchyma air gaps plant size included morphological analysis. confirm spongy pattern ancestral condition while mixed septate patterns occurred independent punctually. Only format was variable among specimens uniform relevant for taxonomic use.

Chromosome reduction in Eleocharis maculosa (Cyperaceae).
Chromosome numbers in Cyperaceae lower than the typical basic number x = 5 have been described for only three species: Rhynchospora tenuis (n = 2), Fimbristylis umbellaris (n = 3) and Eleocharis subarticulata (n = 3). Eleocharis maculosa is recorded here as the fourth species of Cyperaceae that has a chromosome number lower than 2n = 10, with 2n = 8, 7 and 6. The karyotype differentiation in E....
متن کاملNew Hopane Triterpene from Eleocharis sellowiana (Cyperaceae)
The genus Eleocharis R. Br. (Cyperaceae, Cyperoideae, Scirpeae) includes about 200 species, occurring in wet environments like swamps, lakes and rivers margins. Their aerial parts are formed by simple, not ramified stalks that end in a spiciform inflorescence formed by numerous very inconspicuous flowers. Their subterraneous parts are formed by roots and stem (called rhizome or stolon, dependin...

Evolution in sedges (Carex, Cyperaceae)
REZNICEK, A. A. 1990. Evolution in sedges (Carex, Cyperaceae). Can. J. Bot. 68: 1409-1432. Carex is the largest and most widespread genus of Cyperaceae, but evolutionary relationships within it are poorly understood. Subgenus Primocarex was generally thought to be artificial and derived from diverse multispicate species. Relationships of rachilla-bearing species of subgenus Primocarex, however,...
