چکیده
This study presents data on woody plant species richness and diversity of an inaccessible dry forest Tula Mountains Woodland (TMW) located in the northeast Nigeria. TMW supports a minimally disturbed mosaic forest-woodland. We sampled 190 plots size 0.01-ha, spaced 50 m apart series line transects. found total 133 belonging to 88 genera 39 families 1.9 ha area total. Out species, 120 were identified level, 113 recorded as trees, shrubs lianas with diameter at breast height (dbh) ≥ 5 cm. Species accumulation curve was non-asymptotic. Fisher's logseries model suggests that communities are represented by high number rare species. Of 46 (38%) lacked evaluation conservation status IUCN. 74 (62%) evaluated 2 listed critically endangered, 3 vulnerable, 69 least concern. In TMW, 27% restricted Sudanian savannah biome, 61% occurred Zambezian biome. serves refugia for native northeastern

Tree dispersion, abundance, and diversity in a tropical dry forest.
Patterns of tree abundance and dispersion in a tropical deciduous (dry) forest are summarized. The generalization that tropical trees have spaced adults did not hold. All species were either clumped or randomly dispersed, with rare species more clumped than common species. Breeding system was unrelated to species abundance or dispersion, but clumping was related to mode of seed dispersal. Juven...
متن کاملβ-Diversity of Functional Groups of Woody Plants in a Tropical Dry Forest in Yucatan
Two main theories have attempted to explain variation in plant species composition (β-diversity). Niche theory proposes that most of the variation is related to environment (environmental filtering), whereas neutral theory posits that dispersal limitation is the main driver of β-diversity. In this study, we first explored how α- and β-diversity of plant functional groups defined by growth form ...
متن کاملConservation of european farmland birds: abundance and species diversity
Farmland ecosystems have evolved through the development of agriculture, becoming almost uniquely characteristic plant and animal communities (Potts 1991). However, rapid changes in farming methods in the second half of the 20 century resulted in the partial collapse of this ecosystem (Potts 1997). Throughout most of Europe, farmland birds have declined as a result of simplification of farming ...
متن کاملSpecies Diversity of Trees and Forest Floor Plants in Oriental beech Forest Types of Shastkalate Educational and Research Forest, Gorgan)
Trees are the most important biological elements of forest ecosystems. The variability of the tree species composition inhabiting in the Oriental beech forest, not only forms different forest types but also has a remarkable impact on the species diversity of forest floor plants, due to the existence of trees in the overstory layer. In this research, forest types of an an Oriental beech were ide...
متن کاملBayesian species delimitation in West African forest geckos (Hemidactylus fasciatus).
Genealogical data are an important source of evidence for delimiting species, yet few statistical methods are available for calculating the probabilities associated with different species delimitations. Bayesian species delimitation uses reversible-jump Markov chain Monte Carlo (rjMCMC) in conjunction with a user-specified guide tree to estimate the posterior distribution for species delimitati...
