چکیده
The field experiments were conducted during 2017-19 at the ICAR-Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, India. main aim of study was to find out a suitable cropping system that can replace existing rice-wheat realize higher productivity and profitability. Four systems, viz. rice (Oryza sativa L.) - mustard (Brassica juncea mungbean (Vigna radiata L.), maize (Zea mays mustard-mungbean, potato (Solanum tuberosum onion (Allium cepa fodder maize+ cowpea unguiculata wheat (Triticum aestivum -mungbean, evaluated in randomized complete block design with four replications. Results suggested highest obtained from maize-potato-onion system, recording almost 150% over maize-mustard-mungbean rice-mustard-mungbean systems. next best + -wheat-mungbean, significantly than gross net returns also recorded being all other systems first year, statistically par wheat- second year. Overall, maizepotato- potentially be an option Indo-Gangetic Plains.

Residual phosphorus and zinc influence wheat productivity under rice-wheat cropping system.
Continuous cropping of rice (Oryza sativa L.) and wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) deplete soil fertility and crop productivity. One strategy to increase crop productivity under rice-wheat system is balanced application of crop nutrients. Field experiment was conducted to assess the impact of phosphorus (0, 40, 80, 120 kg P ha(-1)) and zinc (0, 5, 10, 15 kg Zn ha(-1)) on the productivity of rice ge...
متن کاملCrop and varietal diversification of rainfed rice based cropping systems for higher productivity and profitability in Eastern India
Rice-rice system and rice fallows are no longer productive in Southeast Asia. Crop and varietal diversification of the rice based cropping systems may improve the productivity and profitability of the systems. Diversification is also a viable option to mitigate the risk of climate change. In Eastern India, farmers cultivate rice during rainy season (June-September) and land leftovers fallow aft...
متن کاملIncreasing Cropping System Diversity Balances Productivity, Profitability and Environmental Health
Balancing productivity, profitability, and environmental health is a key challenge for agricultural sustainability. Most crop production systems in the United States are characterized by low species and management diversity, high use of fossil energy and agrichemicals, and large negative impacts on the environment. We hypothesized that cropping system diversification would promote ecosystem ser...

The effect of tillage, crop establishment and weed management was studied on theperformance of wheat grown after soybean at New Delhi, India during 2010-11 to 2011-12.Sixteen treatment combinations involved 2 tillage, viz. conventional tillage (CT) and zero tillage(ZT), two crop establishment practices, viz. raised-bed and flat-bed and four weed management, viz. isoproturon + hand weeding, mesos...
متن کاملEffect of crop residue and nitrogen levels in yield and yield attributing traits of rice under Rice-Wheat Cropping System
A 3- years (2015, 2016 and 2017) field study was carried out at National Wheat Research Program, Bhirahawa, Rupandehi, Nepal to evaluate the influence of crop residues and nitrogen levels on rice. The experiment was conducted in split plot design with three replications. Main plots were two crop residue levels (with crop residues of 30 cm wheat stubble and without crop residues) and sub plots c...
