Diverging current fluctuations in critical Kerr resonators

چکیده
The parametrically pumped Kerr model describes a driven-dissipative nonlinear cavity, whose nonequilibrium phase diagram features both continuous and discontinuous quantum transitions. We consider the consequences of these critical phenomena for fluctuations photocurrent obtained via weak measurements on cavity. Considering direct photodetection homodyne detection schemes, we find that current diverge exponentially at transition. However, strikingly different two schemes near transition, behaviour which is explained by complementary information revealed in bases. To obtain results, develop formulas to efficiently compute diffusion coefficient -- characterises long-time directly from master equation, thus connecting formalisms full counting statistics stochastic trajectories. Our findings highlight rich transitions quantum-optical systems.

Diverging Fluctuations of the Lyapunov Exponents.
We show that in generic one-dimensional Hamiltonian lattices the diffusion coefficient of the maximum Lyapunov exponent diverges in the thermodynamic limit. We trace this back to the long-range correlations associated with the evolution of the hydrodynamic modes. In the case of normal heat transport, the divergence is even stronger, leading to the breakdown of the usual single-function Family-V...
متن کاملFluctuations from edge defects in superconducting resonators
Superconducting resonators, used in astronomy and quantum computation, couple strongly to microscopic two-level defects. We monitor the microwave response of superconducting resonators and observe fluctuations in dissipation and resonance frequency. We present a unified model where the observed dissipative and dispersive effects can be explained as originating from a bath of fluctuating two-lev...
متن کاملDiverging fluctuations in a spatial five-species cyclic dominance game.
A five-species predator-prey model is studied on a square lattice where each species has two prey and two predators on the analogy to the rock-paper-scissors-lizard-Spock game. The evolution of the spatial distribution of species is governed by site exchange and invasion between the neighboring predator-prey pairs, where the cyclic symmetry can be characterized by two different invasion rates. ...

Carbon nanotubes allow studying a broad range of phenomena, from many-electron transport in onedimensional systems to nonlinear dynamics and fluctuations of bending modes. They also provide unique tools for mass and charge measurements with unprecedented sensitivity [1,2]. Another important new application is force measurement. I will present our recent force sensing experiments in which our na...
