چکیده
This investigation involves recent work on developing membrane distillation (MD) as a novel separation technology for flue gas condensate treatment in combined heat and power (CHP) applications. Flue samples were obtained from municipal solid waste bio-fuel fired CHP facilities tested laboratory-scale air gap MD equipment. Separation efficiencies other water quality parameters measured, the outcomes show that high-quality clean can be recovered, i.e., conductivity <5 mS/m; total organic carbon <2 ppm; hardness <0.15 °dH; pH ∼7.5; turbidity <1 FNU. Strict discharge limits cadmium could not achieved all trials. aspect is examined further detail with respect to potential mechanisms attributed non-ideal of contaminants below parts per billion limit. Beyond this, an industrial scale district heating driven system was designed analyzed. The estimated annual thermal energy demand 88 GWh treating 500,000 m3 year, expected cost around 2.6 $/m3.

Network synthesis for district heating with multiple heat plants
In this paper the first results of a new method for the configuration of district energy systems are presented. District energy systems are believed to help decreasing the CO2-emissions due to energy services (heating, cooling, electricity and hot water), by implementing polygeneration energy conversion technologies. However, because polygeneration technologies are complex, it is meaningful to ...
متن کاملDistrict Heating Mode Analysis Based on an Air-cooled Combined Heat and Power Station
As an important research subject, district heating with combined heat and power (CHP) has significant potential for energy conservation. This paper utilised a 200 MW air-cooled unit as an actual case and presented a design scheme and energy consumption analysis of three typical CHP modes, including the low vacuum mode (LVM), the extraction condensing mode (ECM), and the absorbing heat pump mode...
متن کاملEnvironmental-economic evaluation of sugar cane bagasse gasification power plants versus combined-cycle gas power plants
Approximately 2.4 million tons of bagasse are produced each year in Iran, most of which are currently treated as waste adding to serious environmental concerns. Application of bagasse for energy production is a sustainable solution to supply the required energy within the sugar refineries and export the surplus electricity to the grid. Currently, the energy demand in Iranian sugar mills is main...
متن کاملAssessing the climate impact of district heating systems with combined heat and power production and industrial excess heat
Heat demand is a large contributor to greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the European Union (EU), as heat is largely produced using fossil fuel resources. Extended use of district heating (DH) could reduce climate impact, as DH systems can distribute heat produced in efficient combined heat and power (CHP) plants and industrial excess heat, thus utilising heat that would otherwise be wasted. The...
متن کاملAn Improved System for Utilizing Low-Temperature Waste Heat of Flue Gas from Coal-Fired Power Plants
In this paper, an improved system to efficiently utilize the low-temperature waste heat from the flue gas of coal-fired power plants is proposed based on heat cascade theory. The essence of the proposed system is that the waste heat of exhausted flue gas is not only used to preheat air for assisting coal combustion as usual but also to heat up feedwater and for low-pressure steam extraction. Ai...
