Weak Distributivity implying Distributivity
Let B be a complete Boolean algebra. We show that if λ is an infinite cardinal and B is weakly (λ, ω)-distributive, then B is (λ, 2)-distributive. Using a similar argument, we show that if κ is a weakly compact cardinal such that B is weakly (2, κ)distributive and B is (α, 2)-distributive for each α < κ, then B is (κ, 2)-distributive.
متن کاملDistributivity and Dependency
Sentences with multiple occurrences of plural definites give rise to certain effects suggesting that distributivity should be modeled by polyadic operations. Yet, in this paper it is argued that the simpler treatment of distributivity using unary universal quantification should be retained. Seemingly polyadic effects are claimed to be restricted to definite NPs. This fact is accounted for by th...
متن کاملDistributivity and Stationary Reflections
In this paper, we present some relations between generalized distributivity of quotient algebras and Mahlo operations, and show that the distributivity implies some variants of stationary relections. The notion of generalized distributivity appeared in [3] for the first time. In that paper, we began investigating the relations between the notion and other fundamental principles in set theory, e...
متن کاملBoundedness and Complete Distributivity
We extend the concept of constructive complete distributivity so as to make it applicable to ordered sets admitting merely bounded suprema The KZ doctrine for bounded suprema is of some independent interest and a few results about it are given The category of ordered sets admitting bounded suprema over which inhabited classically non empty in ma distribute is shown to be bi equivalent to a cate...
متن کاملOn O*-Representability and C*-Representability of ∗-algebras.
Characterization of the *-subalgebras in the algebra of bounded operators acting on Hilbert space is presented. Sufficient conditions for the existence of a faithful representation in pre-Hilbert space of a *-algebra in terms of its Groebner basis are given. These conditions are generalization of the unshrinkability of monomial *-algebras introduced by C. Lance and P. Tapper. The applications t...
