A plethora of applications hinge on a network or an array sensors to undertake measurement tasks. rule thumb for sensing is that collective taken by $M$ independent can improve the sensitivity $1/\sqrt{M}$, known as standard quantum limit (SQL). Quantum resources such entanglement and squeezed light be harnessed surpass SQL. Distributed emerging subject dedicated investigating performance gain enabled entangled states shared multiple in tackling different problems. This Review formulates distributed from quantum-information perspective describes protocols their experimental demonstrations. The outlook future opportunities will also discussed.
