Dissociation dynamics of ion-pair states accessed by low-energy electron collisions

چکیده

Abstract Ion-pair (IP) states are the superexcited of neutral molecule that dissociate as a pair positive and negative ions. These generally present near ionization continuum molecule. IP can be accessed by using photoexcitation or electron collision technique. Different techniques widely used over years to study threshold (threshold production spectroscopy) dynamics (IP imaging states. However, technique is ignored only few studies available. In this review, we will discuss different experimental probe also collision.

Low-energy electron collisions with biomolecules

We report recent progress in applying the Schwinger multichannel computational method to the interactions of slow electrons with biomolecules. Calculations on constituents of DNA, including nucleobases, phosphate esters, and models of the backbone sugar, have provided insight into the nature of the low-energy shape resonances, and thereby into possible sites and mechanisms for electron attachme...

Low-energy electron collisions with ethane

We employed the Schwinger multichannel method to compute elastic cross sections for low-energy electron collisions with ethane (C2H6). The calculations were carried out in the static-exchange and static-exchange plus polarization approximations for energies up to 12 eV. Our integral cross section shows good agreement with experimental data and with theoretical results for energies above 5 eV. T...

Electron angular and energy distributions in relativistic ion-atom collisions

The projectile ionization of high–Z, hydrogen–like ions has been studied within the framework of first–order perturbation theory, based on Dirac’s equation. In these studies, emphasis was placed on the energy distribution of the emitted electrons as observed within the laboratory frame. For many years, first–order perturbation theory has been applied in order to analyze the excitation and ioniz...

R-matrix calculations of low-energy electron collisions with methane

R-matrix calculations are performed for electron collision with CH4 at energies between 0.02 and 15 eV using a series of different ab initio models for both the target and the full scattering system. A target model similar to the standard multi-reference configuration interaction used in electronic structure calculations is found to give the best results. Results are presented for elastic scatt...

Quantum microscopic approach to low-energy heavy ion collisions

The Time-dependent Hartree-Fock (TDHF) theory is applied to the study of heavy ion collisions at energies around the Coulomb barrier. The competition between fusion and nucleon transfer mechanisms is investigated. For intermediate mass systems such as O+Pb, proton transfer favors fusion by reducing the Coulomb repulsion. A comparison with sub-barrier transfer experimental data shows that pairin...
