DISPLACEMENT – CONTROLLED SEISMIC DESIGN OF R/C FRAME WITH STEEL DAMPER COLUMN

This paper presents a simple displacement-based seismic design method for RC frames with steel damper column. As numerical example, two 10-story frame building models are shown. The results of nonlinear time-history analysis show that the peak displacement at equivalent height is close to target displacement. strength demand beam ends connected columns, and beam-damper column joints, calculated from static compared results. Then proper overstrength ratio discussed.
