Dispersive-wave self-frequency shift unveiled through length scales propagation

چکیده
Nonlinear propagation of light pulses can excite dispersive waves anchored at frequencies determined by the chromatic dispersion curve. In this work, conditions enabling dispersive-wave self-frequency shift over distance are analytically derived in normal regime. Importantly, novel, to best our knowledge, scenario is not found solving complex dynamics pulse, but studying evolution nonlinear and length scales. This approach allows a simpler, yet consistent insightful, analysis that may also be very useful other regimes.

Plane Wave Propagation Through a Planer Slab
An approximation technique is considered for computing transmission and reflection coefficients for propagation of an elastic pulse through a planar slab of finite width. The propagation of elastic pulse through a planar slab is derived from first principles using straightforward time-dependent method. The paper ends with calculations of enhancement factor for the elastic plane wave and it is s...

متن کاملA dispersive effective equation for wave propagation through spatio-temporal laminates
We consider the problem of wave propagation through one-dimensional spatio-temporal or dynamic laminates when the wavelength of the disturbance is large relative to the scale of the microstructure. Dynamic materials are heterogeneous formations assembled from materials which are distributed on a microscale in space and in time. Using the techniques of Floquet analysis and asymptotic expansions,...
متن کاملElectromagnetic Wave Propagation in Media Consisting of Dispersive Metamaterials
We establish the well-posedness, the finite speed propagation, and a regularity result for Maxwell’s equations in media consisting of dispersive (frequency dependent) metamaterials. Two typical examples for such metamaterials are materials obeying Drude’s and Lorentz’ models. The causality and the passivity are the two main assumptions and play a crucial role in the analysis. It is worth noting...
متن کاملAn FDTD Formulation for Wave Propagation in Biological Dispersive Media
A Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) scheme used to model the wave propagation in biological dispersive media has been proposed in this paper. FDTD scheme based on the direct solution of time domain Maxwell’s equations has developed and these solutions were approximated by time based linear functions. We are applied FDTD scheme for different dispersive media models such as Cole-Cole, Cole-Dav...
