Dispersionless transport in washboard potentials revisited

We reassess the "dispersionless transport regime" of Brownian particles in tilted periodic potentials. show that exhibit normal diffusive motion right after transitioning into running state dragged by constant bias force. No special transient dynamics appears, contrary to conjectures previous studies. The observed flat segment dispersion evolution curve is solely due broad spatial distribution formed early superdiffusion stage. quantitatively describe whole function during and transition diffusion follows, framework 2-well potential velocity space model. exponent $\alpha=3$. Estimate duration ostensible provided. It shown diverge exponentially as temperature decreases zero.
