چکیده
In dogs, the most frequent diseases of prostate gland are benign hyperplasia (BPH), acute and chronic prostatitis, squamous metaplasia, tumors. New diagnostic tools comprise markers in blood urine, as well advanced imaging methods. The therapy can be initialized with 5α-reductase-inhibitor finasteride or an anti-androgenic compound, prolonged a long-acting gonadotropin-releasing-hormone (GnRH)-agonist such deslorelin. case effective antibiotics must applied for weeks. Antibiotics able to penetrate into tissue; fluoroquinolones, clindamycin, erythromycin good choices addition against mycoplasms. chronical prostatitis cannot differentiated from neoplasia by sonography; biopsy, histological, bacteriological examination required. Tumors seldom mostly occur castrated but intact dogs. For final diagnosis, biopsy taken. Partial total resection use laser technique is possible coincedes many side effects prognosis still futile. Immunotherapy combined NSAIDs, targeted noninvasive thermotherapy, BRAF gene inhibitors, artery chemoembolization promising
