Disease Spectrum of Cervical Lymphadenopathy in adults

Aim: To determine the frequency of different diseases resulting in cervical lymphadenopathy specimens patients presenting tertiary care hospital. Methodology: It was a cross sectional study conducted at histopathology section pathology department Services Institute Medical Sciences/Services Hospital Lahore. The approved by ethical committee institution. completed six months.100 cases fulfilling inclusion criteria were registered. Inclusion included above 16 years age, from both sexes, unilateral or bilateral irrespective duration. Lymph nodes less than 1cm not study. Informed consent taken. Both FNAC and Biopsy used as diagnostic tools. All data analysed with SPSS version 11. Results: During period months, total 100 studied. These 75 benign 25 malignant cases. Out 53% diagnosed tuberculous lymphadenitis. About 81.3% age range 16-25 18.7% 26-35 years. 22% reactive 54.54% these 45.46% highest among lesions consisted Non-Hodgkin lymphoma 16% followed Hodgkin 5% metastatic disease 4%.The 36-78 Conclusion: Our concludes that is common clinical presentation our setup tuberculosis commonest cause.
