Discharge sensitivity of collapsible drip tapes to water temperature

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to quantify the effect water temperature variations on discharge collapsible thin-walled drip tapes with integrated non-pressure-compensating emitters. tests were conducted in laboratory using an automated test bench. Tests performed determine discharge-pressure curves by varying from 20 50 °C. Nine emitter models three wall thicknesses (6, 8, and 9 MIL) evaluated. coefficients K x varied according temperature. In flat emitters turbulent flow (x < 0.5), decreased as increased. welded flow, several responses observed. Regarding D > increased increased, while for C decreased; highest occurred at pressures higher than 60 kPa. For embossed emitters, a function temperature, however, greatest variation lowest pressures. None showed significant difference due thicknesses.
