چکیده
Pine rosin of Pinus merkusii Jung at de Vriese is produced industrially from a distillation process pine sap. The high total Indonesian production leads the primary derivatization strategy into several derivates to fulfill market demand. Abietic acid (AA) major compound in rosin, used as object observation this study. general methodology for transformation reported involves using palladium (Pd) and platinum (Pt)-based catalysts. Both are precious metal catalysts proceed with oxidative dehydrogenative-aromatization rosin. synthesized product provides dehydroabietic (DHA) derivatives yield. This paper reports that non-precious metal-based such iron (Fe), zinc (Zn), or copper (Cu) iodine (I2) were applied deliver reaction by steam cracking without nitrogen (N2) oxygen (O2) economical, efficient, greenway’s catalyst. It was found similar isolated, including by-products. Under temperatures various transitions halogen FeCl3-I2 Cu(NO3)2.3H2O ZnCl2 catalyst, four compounds identified employing spectroscopic methods product: 7-hydroxy-dehydroabietic (5), 1,7-dihydroxy-dehydroabietic (6), 7-isopropyl-1-methylphenanthren-9-ol (7) polymer (8). modified mainly an emulsifier synthetic rubber industry, varnish, ink, sizing, etc. products determined based on LC-MS/MS, UV-Vis, ATR-FTIR spectroscopy.

Current advances in precious metal core–shell catalyst design
Precious metal nanoparticles are commonly used as the main active components of various catalysts. Given their high cost, limited quantity, and easy loss of catalytic activity under severe conditions, precious metals should be used in catalysts at low volumes and be protected from damaging environments. Accordingly, reducing the amount of precious metals without compromising their catalytic per...
متن کاملGraphene-Enriched Co9S8-N-C Non-Precious Metal Catalyst for Oxygen Reduction in Alkaline Media
In this work, a non-precious metal catalyst consisting of Co9S8 nanoparticles surrounded with nitrogen-doped graphene-like carbon (Co9S8-N-C) was developed for oxygen reduction in alkaline media. Improved activity has been measured with the Co9S8-N-C catalyst relative to Pt/C and a non-precious metal catalyst based on Fe instead of Co (Fe-N-C). An extensive physical characterization, including ...
متن کاملHigh-performance hydrogen fuel cell using nitrate reduction reaction on a non-precious catalyst.
The H(2)-NO(3)(-) electrochemical cell using nitrate reduction on a non-precious cathode catalyst shows much improved efficiency despite ∼75% reduction of Pt metal loading as compared to typical PEMFCs using typical ORR on precious catalysts.
متن کاملModeling Hierarchical Non-Precious Metal Catalyst Cathodes for PEFCs Using Multi-Scale X-ray CT Imaging
This paper reports the development of a model for simulating polymer electrolyte fuel cells (PEFCs) with non-precious metal catalyst (NPMC) cathodes. NPMCs present an opportunity to dramatically reduce the cost of PEFC electrodes by removing the costly Pt catalyst. To address the significant transport losses in thick NPMC cathodes (ca. >60 μm), we developed a hierarchical electrode model that r...
متن کاملHydrophilic non-precious metal nitrogen-doped carbon electrocatalysts for enhanced efficiency in oxygen reduction reaction.
Exploring the role of surface hydrophilicity of non-precious metal N-doped carbon electrocatalysts in electrocatalysis is challenging. Herein we discover an ultra-hydrophilic non-precious carbon electrocatalyst, showing enhanced catalysis efficiency on both gravimetric and areal basis for oxygen reduction reaction due to a high dispersion of active centres.
