Dimensions of harassment at school: dialogs about gender with young high school students in São Paulo/Brazil

Abstract In this article, we discuss uses of “harassment” as a category employed by young students from public high schools to make sense violence and gender discrimination experiences that occur in out school. The analysis is based on fieldwork records produced within the scope multicenter, mixed-methods research carried nine located São Paulo. Harassment appears polysemic that, naming violence, helps face generation hierarchies inequalities. We infer girls have questioned norms attitudes feed inequalities schools; addition, they denounced silence or inadequacy institution facing problem. This enables identify convergences with new sensibility regarding against women globalized feminist discourses brought surface.
