Digital competencies of university professors in the 21st century

The latest developments in education caused by the 2019-nCOV pandemic and transition from traditional to electronic teaching have influenced special interest of methodologists determining digital competencies teachers 21st century. changes especially affected university professors, whom professional public expects be role models application modern information communication technologies. Those who previously understood importance computers mobile phones went through one type another more painlessly, while it was far difficult for those denied their functionality beginning. Such a factual situation has deeper understanding function modernizing academic practice, analyzing official strategies development existing frameworks necessary competencies. Therefore, authors this paper propose framework professors at higher institutions Republic Serbia, classifying them into six categories successful implementation teaching: 1) Basic knowledge about technologies; 2) Creating accounts using different online clients establish virtual environment; 3) Managing learning 4) Preparation materials with help software; 5) managing an portfolio; 6) Safe use environment ethics.
