Digital Archives Relying on Blockchain: Overcoming the Limitations of Data Immutability

Archives, both analogue and digital, are primarily concerned with preserving records as originals. Because of this, immutable data used in a blockchain structure seem logical choice when designing such systems. At the same time, archives maintain which may need to change over long term. It is requirement archival preservation be able update records’ metadata order not only guarantee authenticity after digital actions but also ensure that relationships other records, might created an original record has entered archive (and been registered blockchain), can maintained.
