Diet-induced insulin resistance altered cardiac GLUT4 and FATP/CD36 expression in rats

چکیده

Abstract Background Altered substrate transport protein expression is central to the effect of insulin resistance on cardiac metabolism. The present study was thus designed investigate comparative effects high fat, sucrose and salt-induced IR fatty acid transporter (FATP) glucose (GLUT4) in rats. Results Rats fed with salt diets developed impaired tolerance ( p > 0.05) hyperinsulinemia < compared control group. Myocardial significantly increased 0.001 for IR; 0.01 sucrose-induced fat-induced IR) across all groups control. Fatty also 0.001) diet-induced rats, fat rats 0.05). Conclusions Our results demonstrate that not caloric excess has a potential role alteration myocardial rat.

Altered microRNA expression in skeletal muscle results from high-fat diet-induced insulin resistance in mice.

Skeletal muscle insulin resistance induced by a high-fat diet has been implicated in the development of type 2 diabetes. However, the precise molecular mechanisms involved are only partially understood. Recently, studies have shown that microRNAs play an important role in insulin resistance in various tissues. In this study, microRNA expression profiles of skeletal muscle of mice fed a high-fat...

Developmental stage modifies diet-induced peripheral insulin resistance in rats.

In the present study, the effects of age and diet on glucose disappearance and tissue-specific glucose uptake (R'g) were examined under basal or hyperinsulinemic, euglycemic conditions in male Sprague-Dawley rats. Rats were equicalorically fed either a high-starch diet (68% of kcal), high-fat diet (HFD; 45% of kcal), or high-sucrose diet (68% of kcal), beginning at either 5 (W; weanling), 10 (Y...

comparison of serum visfatin levels in restricted diet rats,type2 diabetic rats and insulin resistance rats with normal rats

Background and Purpose: Adipose tissue is not only a site of triglycerides storage, but also an active endocrine organ that secretes many biologically active mediators refered to as "adipokines". Visfatin, as a new adipokine has an important role in Homeostasis of energy and glucose metabolism. In the present study serum visfatin levels in restricted diet rats,type2 diabetic rats and insulin re...

Cardiac Alterations in Mice with Altered GLUT4 Expression

Genetic ablation of GLUT4, the major insulin sensitive transporter, results in insulin resistance without overt diabetes. GLUT4 Null mice exhibit significantly decreased adipose tissue and severe cardiac hypertrophy (2x Control) while maintaining normal whole body glycemia. The hypertrophy seen in Null animals is not due to pressure overload. Histological examination revealed enlarged myocytes ...

Loss of ACE2 Exaggerates High-Calorie Diet–Induced Insulin Resistance by Reduction of GLUT4 in Mice

ACE type 2 (ACE2) functions as a negative regulator of the renin-angiotensin system by cleaving angiotensin II (AII) into angiotensin 1-7 (A1-7). This study assessed the role of endogenous ACE2 in maintaining insulin sensitivity. Twelve-week-old male ACE2 knockout (ACE2KO) mice had normal insulin sensitivities when fed a standard diet. AII infusion or a high-fat, high-sucrose (HFHS) diet impair...
