Dielectric relaxation of DNA aqueous solutions.
We report on a detailed characterization of complex dielectric response of Na-DNA aqueous solutions by means of low-frequency dielectric spectroscopy (40 Hz-110 MHz). Results reveal two broad relaxation modes of strength 20<Deltaepsilon(LF)<100 and 5<Deltaepsilon(HF)<20, centered at 0.5 kHz<nu(LF)<70 kHz and 0.1 MHz<nu(HF)<15 MHz. The characteristic length scale of the low-frequency (LF) proces...
متن کاملDielectric Dispersion Study of Aqueous Solutions
A dielectric measurement for the aqueous solutions at lower frequencies (20Hz to 2MHz) has been carried out in frequency domain using Agilient Precision LCR meter (E4980A). The dielectric permittivity spectra of over entire concentrations with aqueous solutions are measured at 25 ̊C. From observed spectra, static dielectric constants (ε0) have been determined. Dielectric Spectroscopy is especial...
متن کاملModelling fast mode dielectric relaxation of counterions in aqueous solutions of ionene bromides and fluorides.
The parameters derived from previously published (M. Luksicet al., Macromolecules, 2009, 42, 4337-4342) dielectric spectra of aqueous solutions of aliphatic 3,3-, 4,5-, 6,6-, and 6,9-ionene bromides and fluorides were analyzed within the existing models for the fast counterion-relaxation process. By fitting the Poisson-Boltzmann results to the experimental data for the osmotic coefficients of t...
متن کاملEffect of magnesium ions on dielectric relaxation in semidilute DNA aqueous solutions.
The effect of magnesium ion Mg(2+) on the dielectric relaxation of semidilute DNA aqueous solutions has been studied by means of dielectric spectroscopy in the 100 Hz-100 MHz frequency range. de Gennes-Pfeuty-Dobrynin semidilute solution correlation length is the pertinent fundamental length scale for sufficiently low concentration of added salt, describing the collective properties of Mg-DNA s...
متن کاملDielectric secondary relaxation of water in aqueous binary glass-formers.
Glassy aqueous binary mixtures generally exhibit a water induced dielectric relaxation. The characteristic time-scale of this relaxation follows an Arrhenius temperature dependence with a nearly universal activation energy. We here demonstrate for a series of model aqueous mixtures that the relaxation time also follows a remarkably general exponential dependence on the weight fraction of water....
