Concerns have increased regarding water quality deterioration in arid land water. Water age is a useful indicator of the susceptibility bodies to and helpful for knowing basic mechanisms governing transport materials through bodies. In current study, spatial distributions small lake Bosten Lake (hereinafter referred as lake) were investigated with two-dimensional hydrodynamic model built on basis Environmental Fluid Dynamics Code (EFDC) model. particular, influences different flow periods, farmland drainages, wind directions investigated. The modeled has high variability. maximum at northeastern part minimum center lake. lower during wet periods gets larger dry periods. After five years’ simulation, average whole system was 594, 684, 794 days under wet, normal, Increasing hydraulic connectivity can reduce its by opening ecological gate inflow Ahongkou outflow. This more favorable conditions promoting exchange most regions be used engineering improve age. drainages should controlled around mean northwestern than that southwestern wind. simulated results provide important information comprehending efficiency, help discovery areas likely experience degradation, design projects or protect environment.
