چکیده
BackgroundA novel method for fast computation of Murray law-based quantitative flow ratio (μQFR) from coregistered angiography and optical coherence tomography (OCT) was recently developed. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic performance this OCT-modulated μQFR (OCT-μFR).MethodsPatients who underwent coronary angiography, OCT, fractional reserve (FFR) were retrospectively enrolled. computed a single angiographic projection. Subsequently, OCT image pullback with angiogram, OCT-μFR calculated based on data. The same cut-off value 0.80 used OCT-μFR, μQFR, FFR define ischemia.ResultsA paired comparison performed in 269 vessels 218 patients. mean 0.81 ± 0.11, 45.0% had an ≤0.80. showed better correlation than (r = 0.83 vs 0.76, P .018) numerically higher (area under curve [AUC] 0.95 0.92, .057). Sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative likelihood ratio, identify ischemia-causing stenosis 89.3%, 93.2%, 91.5%, 91.4%, 13.2, 0.1, respectively. In addition, significantly compared suboptimal quality (AUC 0.93 0.87, .028) tandem lesions 0.94 .017).ConclusionsComputation feasible accurately identified physiologically significant simultaneous morphological assessment. or lesions, angiography-based μQFR.

Relationship between Quantitative Optical Coherence Tomography Parameter and Pressure-derived Fractional Flow Reserve for Assessing the Functional Severity of Coronary Stenosis
Background: Optical coherence tomography (OCT) allows us to evaluate not only the qualitative coronary lesion morphology but also the quantitative anatomical severity of coronary stenosis. Fractional flow reserve (FFR) is an established index to evaluate the functional severity of a coronary stenosis. The aim of this study was to determine the OCT parameters for physiological severity of corona...
متن کاملMeasurement of the blood flow rate and velocity in coronary artery stenosis using intracoronary frequency domain optical coherence tomography: Validation against fractional flow reserve
OBJECTIVES The main objective of this study was to assess the blood flow rate and velocity in coronary artery stenosis using intracoronary frequency domain optical coherence tomography (FD-OCT). A correlation between fractional flow reserve (FFR) and FD-OCT derived blood flow velocity is also included in this study. METHODS & RESULTS A total of 20 coronary stenoses in 15 patients were assesse...

Absolute measurements of cerebral blood flow (CBF) are an important endpoint in studies of cerebral pathophysiology. Currently no accepted method exists for in vivo longitudinal monitoring of CBF with high resolution in rats and mice. Using three-dimensional Doppler Optical Coherence Tomography and cranial window preparations, we present methods and algorithms for regional CBF measurements in t...
متن کاملOptical coherence tomography for quantitative surface topography.
We address the measurement and correction of fan distortion in optical coherence tomography (OCT). This effect arises from the scanning system configuration and prevents one, in general, from obtaining quantitative topographic data from OCT. Computer simulations allowed us to quantify the effect and evaluate its dependence on the scanning mirror separation and design of the collimating lens, as...
متن کاملEvaluation of intracoronary stenting by intravascular optical coherence tomography.
BACKGROUND Conventional contrast cineangiography and intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) provide a limited definition of vessel microstructure and are unable to evaluate dissection, tissue prolapse, and stent apposition on a size scale less than 100 micro m. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the use of intravascular optical coherence tomography (OCT) to assess the coronary arteries in patients undergoing cor...
