چکیده
Background and Aims: The decision to treat chronic hepatitis B Virus infection (CHB) may necessitate an assessment of the degree liver fibrosis. Guidelines recommend Fibroscan examination in such cases. However, it is costly not widely available. Red cell distribution width (RDW) platelet count are simple parameters obtained from blood pictures; their ratio RDW (RPR) was claimed correlate with We aimed assess ability RPR replace fibroscan detection significant fibrosis patients. Patients Methods: This cross-sectional study conducted Tropical medicine department, Tanta University, Egypt, between December 2018 September 2019. One hundred twenty-five patients CHB were included divided according into: Group I: no (n=66), II: (≥ F2) (n=59). calculated for all tested against results. Results: Both groups matched regards age, sex, viral load, steatosis. There a positive correlation stiffness measured by FibroScan serum bilirubin, quantitative polymerase chain reaction virus DNA (HBV PCR), fibrosis-4 score (FIB-4 score) (P value= 0.020, 0.049, 0.0402, respectively). correlated examination. Conclusions: accuracy questionable. FIB-4 measurement (LSM) (F2 or more). Neither RPR, AST Platelet Ratio Index (APRI) FIB4 can grading evaluation start therapy.

Determining the progression stages of liver fibrosis in patients with chronic hepatitis B
Introduction: Chronic hepatitis B (CHB) leads to liver fibrosis, its failure, and death in the long term. The stage of fibrosis in CHB patients can also be detected based on the biochemical markers. The aim of this study was to predict the state of liver fibrosis in CHB patients and determine the possibility of patients shifting from a given state to another one. Materials and Methods: This stu...
متن کاملPrediction of Liver-Related Events Using Fibroscan in Chronic Hepatitis B Patients Showing Advanced Liver Fibrosis
BACKGROUND Liver stiffness measurement (LSM) using transient elastography (FibroScan®) can assess liver fibrosis noninvasively. This study investigated whether LSM can predict the development of liver-related events (LREs) in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients showing histologically advanced liver fibrosis. METHODS Between March 2006 and April 2010, 128 CHB patients with who underwent LSM and...

The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic efficiency of red blood cell distribution width (RDW), platelet distribution width (PDW), the neutrophil-lymphocyte count ratio (NLCR), procalcitonin (PCT) and C-reactive protein (CRP) for the prediction of sepsis. A total of 120 consecutive patients who underwent blood culture testing were included. The PCT and CRP levels, and RDW, PDW and N...

AIM This systematic review and meta-analysis was carried out to compare the diagnostic accuracy of Magnetic resonance elastography (MRE) and Fibroscan for detecting liver fibrosis in Chronic Hepatitis B (CHB) patients. METHODS The PubMed, the Cochrane Library, and the Web of science databases were searched for studies that evaluated the diagnostic value of MRE and Fibroscan for liver fibrosis...
