چکیده
Introduction. Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA) is a rare astrocytic cancer of the central nervous system that classified as grade II according to WHO score. It accounts for 1% primary brain tumors. mainly located in temporal lobe and belongs group tumors called long-term epilepsy associated Surgical tumor resection treatment choice.
Brief description state knowledge. The non-invasive method PXA diagnostics neuroimaging, which based on computer tomography (CT) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). In image, presents solid undergoing contrast enhancement, supratentorial, with frequent peripheral cystic components.
characteristic histologic picture presence highly pleomorphic, fusiform or round, large astrocytes single multiple cell nuclei. Lymphoplasmic infiltrates are visible within tumor. most common mutations occurrence this BRAF V600E gene.
Conclusions. very (CNS) can recur spread throughout CNS. Imaging tests, i.e. CT MRI, allow precise lesion, however, it necessary perform histopathological examination make final diagnosis. rarity assimilates diagnostic problems. Therefore, further molecular research needed develop more efficient diagnostics.

Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma.
We report two cases of pleomorphic astrocytoma, a rare primary brain tumor with an unusually good prognosis. These lesions typically are peripherally located, partially cystic, temporal lobe masses. Dural attachment is frequent, calcifications are not. Angiography usually shows a hypovascular mass, although blood supply from the external carotid artery may be seen.

Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA) is rare primary neoplasm of brain. Despite its pleomorphic appearance, it has a relatively good prognosis. We report a case of biopsy proven pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma in a young male who presented with visual and sensory symptoms, classical neuroimaging findings and showed remarkable recovery, post surgery. We have also reviewed recent literature focusing...
متن کاملPleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma presenting with massive intracranial hemorrhage.
A 46-year-old woman presented with massive left temporal lobe intraparenchymal and diffuse subarachnoid hemorrhage on CT. Lack of enhancement excluded intermediate and high-grade primary tumor or metastasis as likely causes. At surgery, a fibrovascular left temporal lobe mass adherent to the dura proved to be a pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma. The unusual hemorrhagic presentation of this typicall...
متن کاملPleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma - a clinico-pathological review.
Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA) is a rare primary brain tumour which occurs in children and young adults. PXA is designated as low-grade astrocytoma (WHO II), although an anaplastic variant and malignant potential have been described. Pathologically, cellular pleomorphism is the rule and includes spindle cells, mononucleated and multinucleated giant cells, and granular bodies in a reticulin...

Pleomorphic xanthoastrocytoma (PXA) is a low grade tumor that occurs in supratentorial area of children and young adult. In the previous reports, PXA of spinal cord or multicentre was extremely rare. A 60-year-old patient of spinal PXA and periventricular tumor presented with waist pain and weakness of double legs for one month. Neuroimaging showed that a lesion at the level of L2-L3 and perive...
